RedZebra supports a childrens’ home with weekly life skills and performing arts sessions. These picrures document the first of many sessions to come.
Getting started was a bit of challenge as we had group of various ages, ranging from 6 to 17 years old. They were so excited and nevous not knowing what to expect. Most of the children had never played an instrument before. The children immediately fell in love with the instruments, some jumped around trying different ones before they made their final decision. Others decided that they could multi-task and choose two instruments, needless to say, that did not last long. The goal of this session was to get to know your instrument and play your part in our rhythm. It was great success and we had a lot of fun. At the end, everyone wanted to continue playing but it was time to get ready for bed. The children said good bye and eagerly asked if we were coming back next week. We assured the them that this was the first of many sessions and the day ended with happy children. Not much can best that.
