RedZebra Foundation has completed a 5 day training of workshop facilitators. This is the start of our project in schools in Nyanga, Hanover Park and Masiphumelele to discuss important life skills with the young learners while engaging them through the performing arts.
The training started on Tuesday 7th April , at 8:00 at the Southern Sun Newlands Conferencing Facilities. Everyone arrived crisp, with excitement and a bit nervous starting this adventure with a group of people they are meeting for the first time.
During the training, the facilitators learned about specific RedZebra facilitation techniques, the Red and White Stripes, for the “We Can Beat It!” programme. We also co-created an introductory “Kick-Off” show to the learners at the schools to get them interested in the 8 week life skills “We can Beat It!” Programme. Our peer educators are amazing creative and talented young people who want to further strengthen their skills and impact, being change agents in their communities.
Many of them are actively involved with youth in the communities in various ways. And now they are receiving fantastic skills to improve themselves and be of greater service. It is amazing being in a space where people are eager to help others. These young people are inspiration!

They ensured that we felt fully looked after and could focus on the training, getting ready for the task to empower young people with tools and skills to create a better future for themselves and their communities in Masiphumelele, Nyanga and Hanover Park.
